Terms of use

These terms are maintained by TrustConnect and apply to everyone who uses the platform. They are written in plain language on purpose.

1. What TrustConnect is

TrustConnect is a connection platform. We introduce cargo owners to truck drivers and truck owners. We are not a carrier, freight forwarder or insurer, and we do not take custody of any goods.

2. Accounts and account types

TrustConnect supports company agents, open agents, individual load owners, drivers (including owner-drivers) and truck owners. Each type has its own checks and its own fees. A truck owner may register trucks and drivers and give those drivers access with their work email and a unique code; the owner remains responsible for what those accounts do.

3. Accuracy of your details

You must give accurate details about yourself, your cargo, your trucks and your drivers. Registering a vehicle or driver means you have the authority to do so. Accounts found using false documents are suspended.

4. Connections

Cargo owners choose a driver from the verified pool themselves. A connection is not a contract of carriage — the commercial terms of the trip, including the freight rate, are agreed directly between the cargo owner and the driver or truck owner.

5. Fees and payment

We charge a one-off registration fee per account, per truck and per driver, a flat connection fee per match, and — for company accounts — a monthly amount agreed with you based on the number of trucks you need. Contact details are released once the fees due on a connection are settled. Fees are not a commission on your freight rate, and haulage payment itself stays offline between you and the other party.

Payments are taken through Paystack. We do not see or store your card or bank details. A payment shows as pending until Paystack confirms it, and your account updates automatically once confirmation reaches us. If a payment fails, nothing is unlocked and nothing is owed.

6. Verification and checks

We check driver licences, vehicle plates and ownership documents before a driver or truck enters the pool. Verification is a documentary check at a point in time. It is not a guarantee of conduct, road-worthiness or performance, and you remain responsible for your own due diligence.

The documents we ask for depend on your account type and may include identity details, proof of address or operating location, business registration details for companies, a valid commercial driver's licence, guarantor details, vehicle licence and ownership papers, road-worthiness and goods-in-transit insurance. Photos of trucks and drivers are required. Submissions may be screened automatically for signs of tampering or impersonation, and anything flagged is reviewed by a person before a decision is made.

7. Trips, no-shows and cancellations

A pickup code is issued for each confirmed connection and is entered at loading. If a driver does not arrive and enter the code within the stated window, the connection is released and the load returns to the pool. If a cargo owner cancels after the driver has reported arrival at pickup, a flat cancellation fee applies and is credited to the driver. Drivers report the end of a trip and cargo owners confirm delivery.

8. Condition photos and disputes

Photos taken at pickup and at delivery are the record we use if a problem is raised. A cargo owner has 24 hours after delivery to flag damage or shortage with photo evidence. If the goods were intact at pickup and damaged at offloading, liability sits with the transporter; if the pickup photos already show poor packaging or existing damage, the driver is cleared. Our role is limited to reviewing the evidence on the platform.

9. State agents

Agents observe and record. They do not approve, reject or arrange connections, and they are not a party to your agreement. At pickup an agent may confirm that the cargo owner presented the cargo and the driver presented the truck. Those records are evidence of what the agent saw, nothing more.

10. Conduct

Do not use TrustConnect to move goods that are illegal or that you are not entitled to move, to impersonate another person or business, or to take a connection off-platform to avoid fees after being introduced through us.

11. Liability

Loss, damage, delay, theft and injury arising during a trip are matters between the cargo owner, the driver and the truck owner, and their insurers. TrustConnect's responsibility is limited to the connection fees you paid for the affected connection.

12. Suspension and changes

We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts other users at risk. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.

13. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. For anything about this page, contact the TrustConnect team through the support address shown in your account.
